Turley: His testimony reminds me of this scene from the Poseidon Adventure.
The ship had just capsized. It was slowly sinking. A crew member told the passengers to remain calm, stay where they are, help is on the way. Some of the passengers said we must climb up in order to save ourselves. The crew member said they were wrong. It was to dangerous to climb up, stay here, wait, do nothing.
The crew member and all the passengers who listened to him, drowned. The only people who survived were the one's who climbed upwards. They knew staying put, doing nothing, would end in disaster. They knew climbing up was their only hope. They knew it was the right thing to do.
People who think like Turley are weak minded. They cannot recognize danger until it is to late. They fear taking action so much all critical thinking ends. They believe taking action against danger is to dangerous. Turley, people like him are the kind of people who can get people killed, destroy democracies, send the world into chaos.
We are like the passengers on the Poseidon. Half of us recognize the danger, the other half does not. Soon the American people will make a decision. Will we climb upwards or will we drown.
