https://www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/kid-rocks-little-caesars-arena-restaurant-to-close-decision-follows-controversial-video/ar-BBXKlLi?ocid=spartanntpOne of the signature restaurants at Little Caesars Arena will no longer bear Kid Rock's name.
Ilitch Holdings announced early Wednesday that the musician has "voluntarily decided not to renew" his lease for Kid Rock's Made in Detroit restaurant, one of four full-service eateries at LCA since the arena's 2017 opening.
A statement attributed to Chris Granger, president of sports and entertainment for Ilitch Holdings, said a new concept will be introduced in the space that "aligns with our community and company values.
The announcement comes days after the emergence of a video in which Kid Rock, onstage at his Nashville stage and apparently drunk, directed a graphic rant toward Oprah Winfrey. The Ilitch statement did not directly cite that incident.

(23,343 posts)Outside of those times, the arena (and the ground-level parking expanses) have gutted much of the old "Cass Corridor" district. I wish they could have built more multi-level parking structures and demolished fewer old residences. Granted, the residents of those buildings may not have been able to afford tickets to the arena, but ...
I was there for one concert. Not a bad place, but a bit painful when they turned the sound system up to "elevens".

(959 posts)hes an asshole racist etc sure. but worst of all he is a fucking bad musician who helped to pimp out bad music to make it mainstream for $. Nickleback deserves its' own layer of hell, but at the center will be Kid Rock.
