I'm thinking Speaker Pelosi will be Time's Person of the Year this year.

She's proved herself a pretty successful foil to Donald Trump on numerous occasions throughout the year, and set into motion the year's biggest news story.

When is it announced?

Republicans loathe her (as they’re instructed), and many Democrats have gone at her as well: “too old,” “too centrist,” “too corporate-friendly,” etc. I admit, there was a time when I was one of those critical Democrats.

And yet there she is, herding cats, directing traffic with ranting fascists, outplaying 45 on more than one occasion, and standing fast for democracy.
