Lawrence O'Donnell on one more thing about Trump that could be described as "tiny."

Lawrence O'Donnell
@Lawrence

For someone who made it through college, a tiny vocabulary is an indicator of an imperviousness to learning. Trump says “looking very strongly at” all the time because he doesn’t know the adult words for what he means.

your chance of Educational Advancement was a given. Watched it happen in real time in a small Village and latter in a State College.

Having a learning disability that was confirmed late in my teens,I look back at how if that would have been addressed some ten years earlier,my life track would most likely have changed significantly. But,hey, things turned out pretty darn good anyway.

Republican Gerald Ford. This bill guaranteed that any child between the ages of three and twenty-one a public education. Before then, people like Trump fell through the cracks, unless their family was loaded.

It doesn't help that he isn't curious enough to learn, won't listen to voices outside his head, and somehow thinks he's perfect. He is somehow stuck at an age range of 7 to 10 years old, with his simple words, childish nicknames, and playground bully demeanor.

started a behavioral science course of study funded by the Phillips Family who own what is commonly called Presto Industries. They had a Son who had severe learning disabilities as well as some phyical issues. As a result,a special Educational Unit was funded and established within our Campus School for the Faculty as well as kids in the neighborhood surrounding the Campus. Same school was used for Teacher Education as well as a Teacher Professional Practice Teaching Facility. This was started I believe in the late forties and the behavioral science was added in 1959. Which later became the model for Special Education nationwide.

I'd be willing to bet that some of Wisconsin's U.S. legislators back then (Sens Nelson and Proxmire/Rep Obey) brought the model to the attention of the right people. We had fantastic pols in the 70s.

In reading your post, I'm piecing together where this campus is. Hmmm, Wellstone (MN) and Presto...

"Believe me," "You'll find out," "A lot of people are saying," and "A lot of people have told me," all of which are tells that he's lying out his ass.

"We're looking at" bathroom fixtures was his predictably dumb way of saying he thinks there's too much regulation of water use, so of course he exaggerates the alleged inefficacy of low-flow toilets by claiming they have to be flushed 10-15 times, which isn't true - unless it's true for him because he lives on KFC and Big Macs.

"People don't realize" is a variation that means he didn't realize.

Other things "people" (i.e., Trump) didn't know or realize:

The Korean War hasn't ended
Lincoln was a Republican
France is the US' oldest ally

Maybe they learned enough in high school to get by, then they don't bother ever thinking about serious facts and issues again.

I remember when Reagan explained in a speech how much a billion dollars is. I commented to a CPA friend that I thought RR was insulting us. My friend told me, not necessarily. A lot of people can't imagine numbers that high.

That shows the true dumbing down of America. When Kardash-holes are famous for being famous and garbage like Survivor and 90-Day Fiance pass as entertainment.

It's all a YUGE distraction for weaker minds as the country goes to hell, the planet drowns and the Billy Bobs don't care.

Did you ever notice how many GOP presidential/VP candidates have one-syllable names? Ford, Bush (I), Dole, Kemp, Bush (II), Trump, and Pence. Dukakis never had a chance.

How on earth do you look at something "very strongly"? He gets hung up on the words "strong" and "powerful" and uses them in peculiar ways. Putin's denial of interference in the 2016 election wasn't vehement, it was an "incredibly strong and powerful denial". Then there is his weird use of the word "beautiful"............... such a strange man.

The small vocabulary and simplistic words are quite intentional, as is the repetition. Hallmarks of propaganda.

Contrary to popular opinion, Trump isn't as dumb as he acts. He knows his audience.

Both also filled their cabinets with good role models rather than criminals.....
