HPD chief Acevedo calls out McConnell, Cornyn, Cruz by name, urging them to pass Violence Against Women act.
"And who killed our Sgt? A boyfriend abusing his girlfriend. So you're either here for women and children [daughters, sisters] and our aunts, or you're here for the NRA."

(3,415 posts)He has been very good for Houston PD, turning a once gang of cops who had a reputation for police brutality, especially against POC, into a Department that DOES protect and serve. And I say this as a former Houstonian, having lived there from 1981 until 2005. Well said, Chief Acevedo! I tip my hat to you, SIR!

Here, in the NYPD, we have recently learned of quotas where they specifically targeted African-Americans and Hispanics.

If inclined to say thank you about gun control news conference.
Sargent Christopher Brewster shot and killed answering a domestic violence call.
The family of the perp stated he had mental health issues and was not taking his meds. A double red flag - this hot headed 25 year old should have not had a gun in his possession. The NRA condones and encourages this insanity of anyone/everyone gets a gun or two.
