FUD
Fear
Uncertainty
Doubt
This is a business tactic. It's meant to influence your customer's decision, especially if you're losing the deal. You bring up all the negative things about your competitor's specs and service, leaving the customer to reconsider your product.
This is exactly the same model that Trump, and now the Congress people are using liberally. Yes, I realize that this goes back to Swiftboating, but it is as much a business technique as it is political. Under Trump, it seems to have escalated. I suspect that Rudy Giuliani is going to come up with some fake information to use against Biden, all with the intention of FUDding their way to the next election.
