To be a Republican and conservative is to be a blind partisan hack.

It is party heresy for a Republican to be critical of a Republican president – no matter how wrong, reprehensible, and unfit for office that president might be.

Republicans consider the presidency to be their ‘birthright,’ and as such they would never do or say anything to jeopardize that wrongheaded notion.

And this didn’t start with Trump.

IMO the argument that they would be primaried if they go against trump is bs. I think the reasons have to be way more substantial than that to cause ALL of them to vote to protect/defend/prop up a reprehensible, inept, corrupt human to this degree. This is about more than individual gop politics.

I really understand Russia owning tRUMP, McTurtle, Graham, Barr, and lots of other RETHUGLICON senators BUT Mueller has me perplexed! Just can't figure this one out!

Safe to say, most Americans across the political spectrum have been (and continue to be) inundated by an endless tsunami of KGB-style disinformation, to the point that Americans are stunned, disbelieving, cynical, and don’t know who to trust.

All of this is Russia classic: the incessant lying, the deceit, the false promises, the demonizing, the cult-like isolation, “don’t believe what you read.”

But historically campaigns can give back or donate such funding when they “realize “ where it came from and not take too much damage about it. I’m sure some are so far into it that they would be toast, but I still think that’s a secondary issue. Would their voters really be all that upset if it turns out Putin donated to republican campaigns? Most of them LIKE Putin.

But the republicans can’t make their numbers work without the base. They nurtured the trump base’s hatred for 40 years. Then trump came a long and galvanized them into his 35%. And now they’re his. Shit on trump in any way, and 35% of your voters abandon you. That makes wining a primary difficult, and a general all but impossible.

They can’t piss off the base. They NEED the base.

They hope to cement minority party rule and they will be among the rulers.

If not for that pesky House, they'd have it already.
