Unexpected events, Acts of God, amazing luck, call it what you want.

American history is filled with almost mystical events taking place during times of great crisis. These almost mystical events changed the course of history for the good. Here are just a few examples.

During the American revolution, Washington and his men were badly beaten at the battle of New York. They were facing total extermination. The British and German soldiers were giving no quarter. A heavy fog set in allowing Washington and his men to slip away into the night, saving the Revolution.

During the Battle of Midway our fighter pilots located the Japanese aircraft carriers as they were refitting the bombs to their planes on the flight decks. Japan was doomed from that moment on.

During the impeachment of Nixon someone asked a simple question. Are there any tapes. The person asked that question said yes. Nixon was finished.

We don't know what is going to happen during the trial. We don't know what will happen after the trial. We don't know what will happen if Trump is acquitted.

If American history is a guide, if it holds true, Trump is doomed.

I have been thinking along those lines, too.

We need to keep working and GOTV, no matter what happens. We may not get so lucky this time.

Maybe Bolton will volunteer to come forward. His ego may just trigger that desire he can't resist. I'm sure he's itchin' to take the stand. More power to him.

Message to Bolton: Your appearance to save us from Trump might just sell a ton of books. Think about that!

Any really juicy details in his book that could have swung the conviction in the Senate will make him look like a real jerk for not bringing out BEFORE it was too late. He will look like a foolish coward and greedy scrooge - like "oh, I'm willing to make a profit off this info, but not save the republic."

One thing I agree with Trump on is Bolton's moustache...awful thing that needs a professional trim. That said, I did think Bolton might have a strong enough loyalty to the country to step forward, but it looks like money got in the way and he's saving it for his book.

I would never buy his book, anyway.

...don't forget the piece of tape at the Watergate Hotel. The long shot of Lincoln's nomination in 1860. Lee's plans falling into Union hands before Antietam, forcing even McClellan to take action. FDR's polio attack--a disaster for him, but a blessing to the country. And many others...though I have felt for some time that maybe our luck is running out. We'll know more about that within a year...

If I get this right-His fight with Polio shaped his character with added compassion. And his wife and he restored a broken marriage through the hardship.

I had not heard it boiled down to that but now I get it (I hope).

And the money I want to follow is the $1 million wired from the Ukrainian oligarch to Lev Parnas' wife. Where did the money go next. Is that how Rudy and his people got paid? a big deal has been made about how Rudy was not being paid by Trump. The other possibility on the money transfer is that Parnas handed much of it out to Republican candidates as dark money not tracible back to Parnas. Follow the money because we need to know who got their pockets lined.
