They diminish themselves in a crazy, desperate attempt to attain and maintain dominance, looking like the fools they are in the process.

ejected from power by the voters. They should be investigated, and, where appropriate, sent to prison.

But it's far more important that those voters for whom it's possible, and that's most of them, reconnect their morals and intellect to their political beings. They'll need better leadership for that, but that could return them to a functional and principled path amazingly quickly. It'll probably take longer.

Those who can't on both sides, the ones who would have it happen here, have always been with us. It's always everyone else's job to keep them, their extremism, contempt for truth, vicious partisanship, abandonment of principles and mindless loyalty to bad leaders from getting control.

It's our failure I hate. But we can restore the America we inherited and go on to make the future better than the past has ever been. We're not the first. Our grandparents did it before us.

Eye on the prize.

I wish Madam Speaker would have used that line when the yutz asked her if she hates him. Would have used a line the evangelicals use all the time as an excuse for treat people like crap but claim it is out of love.

I don’t know where that whole “love the sinner, hate the sin” thing cake from. It certainly wasn’t from any version of the Bible.

Jesus was pretty clear about people going to hell, and not some abstract concept independent of those people.

Hate is far too negative of an emotion and it takes effort to sustain. I refuse to give them that much power over my life.

Maybe that means I don't have your respect; I can live with that.

They vote republican. I consider them republican. They are rare in that we can carry on civil conversations, and usually agree that something needs to be done, we simply differ markedly on what we think that something is.

Having said that, current situation being what it is, if I find out someones’ political persuasion prior to making a connection, I can honestly say I’d choose not to. Probably cost myself some decent interaction with some otherwise quality people, but it’s come to that.

Many Republicans are merely unthinking followers. These Republicans are dangerous but pitiable.

Those leading the pitiable masses are simply beneath my contempt.

More importantly, like Madam Speaker, I was taught as a child that I should not hate anyone.
