Republican senators want Trump to stay off Twitter during impeachment trial

Senate Republicans have high hopes that President Trump won’t tweet during his impeachment trial.

“This is a solemn and serious undertaking and I just think we don’t need a bunch of distractions,” said Sen. John Cornyn told Politico.

The Texas Republican said it would be “optimal” for Trump to stay off the social media platform while the Senate holds the trial.

“The president will like the outcome, I believe, in the end. So ... making it easier not harder would be a good thing,” he said.

You might as well tell him not to eat anything from McDonalds.

He'll probably have to get an extra phone because he'll be wearing the batteries down with all that nonstop tweeting.

A commentator on NPR (didn't get her name) yesterday said that the six page "I Wrote It All By Myseff" screed to Pelosi trapped every Republican in the House and the Senate into signing on for whatever Trump says or does through the proceedings. I hadn't thought of it like that, but I think the woman was right: By not saying anything about the letter, Trump should now expect every Republican to follow his lead. Sen. Cornyn can hope that Trump doesn't tweet. Hope in one hand and shit in the other, Senator, and see which one fills up first.

..during the trial?

It seems it would be very inappropriate for either Party to interfere with the trial in such a manner?
