Anthony Scaramucci Names Four Witnesses Whose Senate Testimony Would Force Trump to Resign

Former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci said President Donald Trump would be forced to resign if the Senate were to call any one of four people to testify in the upcoming impeachment trial.

Scaramucci, who served less than two weeks in the Trump administration in 2017, remarked that Trump couldn't "handle the heat of that testimony" Saturday morning as a panelist on MSNBC's AM Joy, hosted by Joy Reid.

At the start of the discussion, Scaramucci went after Senate Republicans, whom he accused of "allowing" Trump to break the law. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell previously sparked outrage among Democrats by vowing to work "in total coordination" with the White House ahead of the Senate impeachment trial, which will determine whether or not the now-impeached president will see out his term in office.

"Joy, we haven't even seen the primary witness testimony. Those four people, whether it's Mulvaney, Bolton, Giuliani, Pompeo—if they have to testify under oath, he has to leave," Scaramucci told Reid, referring to the Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney; former National Security Adviser John Bolton; Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani; and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Any one of the four, in Scaramucci's estimation, could provide enough direct evidence of the president's alleged misdeeds to motivate him to resign rather than face the fallout from their revelations.

But I would argue that once they begin going thru the steps to impeach which should include any hearings any pardon is not legitimate. So Nixon's pardon probably unconstitutional.

Because the alternative may be worse. ie. Trump foments a second Civil War.

Or he gets re-elected. And in the next four years he and Moscow Mitch radically change laws to retroactively allow the kind of interference that occurred in the Ukraine. Also more executive powers, more lax laws surrounding money laundering. Meanwhile State Republicans dismantle whats left of fair voting, and drops thousands more Democratic voters from the rolls.

I can almost see it now if we won. We are all so relieved to to be rid of Trump, and have a Democratic President again, that much like when Obama "moved forward" and ignored the crimes of the Bush admin, the whole Trump family, and any top Republicans (Lindsey?) who also were in on the dark money train from Russia, will all be given pardons, or a pass on further investigations.....for the good of the country.

For the good of the country? Not in the long term. I hope that the Democrats don't do a half job. That once in power again, they will "move forward" and allow Trump to re-gather his deplorable army, crying and whining and boasting how if he had done ANYTHING wrong at all , they would have got him. And that his freedom proves that Democrats just tried to make up shit on him.

Question: Can a former President, like Trump, if he's only served 4 years, return to be a candidate again to run for four more? Because if true, and he's not killed himself with MacDonalds, fried chicken, and Sudifed, I can totally see him returning in all his gold enamelled glory in 2024, and be a real threat. Having 4 years to whip up Republicans along with Fox News and RW media. We must finish him off once we do, hopefully, gain a majority.

I’ve been thinking recently: regardless of whether Trump is “acquitted” in the Senate, if I were #46 Trump would be in jail as SOON as humanly possible. As President, I would be in charge of the Justice department, right? There you go. Whomever I chose as Attorney General had better be with me on this one, or s/he would be fired. I’ll find SOMEONE willing to lock that bastard up and bring him to true justice eventually...

I really hope I am 100% wrong, but I see violence coming. The creature has been promoting violence for a long time, his followers are non-thinkers, they are violent, and they have been waiting for someone like the creature to give them the go-ahead, so I do see bad things happening. Like the idiot on the video who threatened to come out with his "Magnum 45"?

I just hope that both the police and the military will be forceful enough to stop them on their tracks. I have a feeling that most of them are cowards, and when the time comes to really go out and they see the possibility of bullets coming at them, they will run. There are some ex-soldiers who will fight, but a great majority will run.

a course of action that will end in Trump's resignation or his conviction. It may only take one witness, but Pelosi will go for all four. She will go for the whole lot of them. Put them on the stand and GOP Senators will eat crow.

Scaramucci is right on this issue. Pelosi will run the table, partly because the overwhelming common sense of her tactics will turn the nation decidedly against a kangaroo trial.

The Senate either convicts or the Constitution is dissolved. That's what's at stake.

The fact that people who have been indicted, who have served time in jail can run for office is wrong, that people who have been involved in as many lawsuits as trump can run for office is wrong. A good example is Matt Gaetz of Florida, convicted for DUI and there he is, spewing stupidity in Congress.

Like Scaramucci who showed the world he is a leach but is now pretending to be a respectful human being is also wrong. Why would Joy invite him? His opinions are worthless, at least to me.

...(if any of those four end up agreeing/forced to testify) because the prospect of that testimony would be too awful for him. I doubt that, because...

...Trump may not assume they would tell the truth, even under oath. After all, he wouldn't. He's been under oath before and lied. (And even if they're accused of perjury, he has the potential to pardon them.)

...even if they tell the truth and it's awful, I think Trump assumes he has always been and will continue to be teflon. Whatever bad thing someone says, he'll say it's a lie, or come up with some suitable (to him) explanation, or say that even if it's true, it's not illegal, etc. etc. I'm not sure it's in his nature to have ANY fear of consequences.

the only path of vindication is to get re-elected. If Pence promises to pardon him, he might resign. But I think that he will hold out for re-election. He is such a stupid man, mired in denial of reality and delusions of grandeur. He has probably convinced himself that he will be exonerated by getting re-elected. He will not be re-elected.
