15 states' AGs sue over Trump repeal of Clean Water Rule
Washington and 14 other states sued the Trump administration on Friday, seeking to halt rollback of a 2015 Obama-era rule that expanded protection under the federal Clean Water Act to include headwaters of rivers and creeks as well as such non-navigable waters as wetlands and streams that flow only part of the year.
A new Clean Water Rule, written by the Environmental Protection Agency under President Trump, would extend legal protection to far fewer waterways. It is due to take effect on Monday.
"This regressive rule ignores science and the law, and strips our waters of basic protections under the Clean Water Act," New York Attorney General Letitia James said in a statement.
The Clean Water Act lawsuit, filed in federal court in New York, is the 54th litigation in which Washington has sued or joined other states in challenging the Trump administration. Environmental rollbacks, immigration cases, and efforts to restrict services at women's health clinics have accounted for the bulk of the cases.

If Trump loves dirty water so much he's welcome to drink from my septic tank.
