(8,835 posts)instead of child at the border, it should have read children in cages and given the number of children they are holding separated from their parents.....what is it? 10K? 20K 30K are children, some only 3 months old. In total there are supposedly 70K in private prisons.......
70,000. X 780 each a day? That equals 54.6Million a day? if my numbers are correct.......
My numbers are correct I just fact checked them. The 780 a day per person is more than a deluxe suite in any of Trumps resorts or hotels......(or bed bug colonies)
The states were slowly getting rid of the outrageous Private Prisons and the Judges that worked to fill them with petty criminals, so the Republicans had to do something to continue to reward the Corporations that were fleecing the taxpayers to give the corporations un-fathomable profits.....
FIFTY FOUR MILLION A DAY...........

(2,739 posts)We have an ongoing presence at Mission Border Hope in Eagle Pass, Texas, several of us have gone down to help Sister Norma Pimentel with her decades of service to immigrants in Rio Grande Valley. Our denomination has churches at the border that host teams coming down to help. Our church collects donations and send them down with church members. Many denominations funnel donations to Sister Norma, not just Catholics.
Many of the churches (different denominations) in my town south of Austin have a ministry called Amigos de Jesus, where we provide hospitality, referrals for legal help, food and clothing, blankets, fans during the summer heat, and help getting medical care as needed. We've been involved in that ministry since the beginning of W's administration at least.
It's easy to think that the evangelical supporters of Trump are the prototype of a Christian. But in reality they are an aberration, because the Bible is so very clear on how we are to take care of the poor, sick, stranger, those in prison, the lost, the lonely.
