https://www.politico.com/news/2019/10/31/trump-impeachment-senators-donor-062084Trump is tapping his vast fundraising network for a handful of loyal senators facing tough reelection bids in 2020. Each of them has signed onto a Republican-backed resolution condemning the inquiry as unprecedented and undemocratic.
Conspicuously absent from the group is Maine Sen. Susan Collins, a politically vulnerable Republican whos refused to support the resolution and avoided taking a stance on impeachment. With his new push, Trump is exerting leverage over a group he badly needs in his corner with an impeachment trial likely coming soon to the Senate but that also needs him.
Republican senators on the ballot next year are lagging in fundraising, stoking uncertainty about the GOPs hold on the chamber, and could use the fundraising might of the president. Trumps political operation has raked in over $300 million this year.
On Wednesday, the Trump reelection campaign sent a fundraising appeal to its massive email list urging donors to provide a contribution that would be divided between the president and Colorado Sen. Cory Gardner, Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst, and North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis. Each of the senators are supporting the anti-impeachment resolution despite being endangered in 2020.

Say bye bye to your seats. Senators. Democrats running for those seats will have been given a HUGE gift.

Their propaganda networks are unchallenged, and have captured the minds of America's xenophobic white voters. It will have them until they die.

(11,885 posts)To get the results he wants , and did he force Justice kennedy out with info on his son? I suspect he's called Roberts also trying to bribe, pressure or threaten him, or all of these tactics. He's very very corrupt, and desperate now.

I remember that; more info on this may come out when the tax returns are released.
We know he's finished if those returns are released because he said so himself.

(50,559 posts)Thirty Republican senators being required to recuse for being in bed with Trump and Putin. Because the Constitution requires two-thirds of those present to vote aye to get rid of Trump, recusing that many GOP senators will give us the opportunity to throw the bum out without one single GOP vote.
Then, after we take back the Senate, we EXPEL every last one of those assholes.

(8,924 posts)If we want to hold the articles of impeachment for a fair trial, these Senators have provided absolute proof that they cannot be expected to provide impartial justice. It seems Pelosi could
legitimately hold the articles of impeachment indefinitely using this argument.
