Speaker Pelosi: "What's his excuse now?"

Nancy Pelosi ✔ @SpeakerPelosi

The House cannot choose our impeachment managers until we know what sort of trial the Senate will conduct.

President Trump blocked his own witnesses and documents from the House, and from the American people, on phony complaints about the House process. What is his excuse now?

turtle's admission about not being impartial seemed to me like it had a purpose.
he isnt stupid enough to put that out there accidentally.
he may be brazen enough, but i doubt that, too, unless there is a reason.

maybe he wanted the debate out there. not out of any sort of honor, but for his own purposes.
he may want to protect twitler, but he is a lot more concerned about keeping his majority. it's on the bubble in a big way, where a year ago, it looked locked in.

you cant be too suspicious of these criminals.

It must be driving him crazy, which is the whole point. I think a lot of politicians of both parties would like this problem to just go away, Republicans especially because they will be slain by the Twitter machine, or the general public will be in an uproar by election day, if there is one.

So while acquittal and defeating Trump at the polls in November is entirely possible, I would place higher odds on either a Trump conviction, deal to make him resign, or acquit and election day cancelled. We are approaching the moment of truth.

[link:https://takecareblog.com/blog/impeachment-trials-and-the-senator-s-oath-of-impartial-justice|

Rule XXV of the Senate Rules in Impeachment Trials provides the text: ”I solemnly swear (or affirm) that in all things appertaining to the trial of ____, now pending, I will do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws, so help me God.”

The Senator’s Oath in impeachment trials addresses the tension between the political and legal character of impeachment. The requirement of “impartial justice” means that every Senator must decide from behind the veil of ignorance -- that is, as if he or she did not know the party affiliation of the person impeached. This includes evaluating the evidence, and deciding whether the proven misconduct justifies removal from office. Senators violate their oath if they apply friendlier standards to Presidents of their own Party than to those of the opposing Party.

They have no choice that is good for them. And even that assumes they have no obligation to Trump other than party. Perhaps many would prefer not to vote on the subject at all. The best they can hope for is that Trump goes insane before the trial and 25thA is exercised.

that's not the same as dealing with it. That will enrage most voters other than Trump's 34% base. Any claims of exoneration would be hollow in the extreme. It would punish the GOP in November.

I don't trust a (r)epuglicon anywhere within 10 parsecs (a long distance). I especially don't trust mcTurdle to keep to his word.

When we say that a breach of their promises will be obvious to the American people, that doesn't matter to them since they are rigging any new elections.

First they say that agent orange did not wrong.
Then they refuse to give up witnesses and documents to prove it.

First they say "what's the rush?"
Then they say "you're taking too long."

First they say they didn't do a quid pro quo.
Then they say that everybody does it and we should just get over it.

First they say there was no collusion with Russia or Putin.
Then they meet his representatives in the Oval Office with no American media allowed and translator notes confiscated.

They will say any ridiculous thing to weasel out of whatever situation they are in. They are sick buzzards and the only reason to listen to them is to point out their obvious lies.

is to remove Trump from office and make Pence president. They will still get everything they want, judges, anti-abortion president, etc., and they won't have a president with the mind of a 12 year old taking a wrecking ball to their political party.

They have to be seriously discussing this or they have lost their minds.

when he was sworn in, which he did. Gosh, remember the uproar? Is there any other reason why cocaine became so prevalent and popular?

Pence is up to his ass in the same crimes as Drumpf. He'll just pardon and be a continuation of this administration.

Let's just cut it all off at the knees and get on with our lives. Which is going to take a long time, especially now that the billionaires are running the media who are running the "messaging" on what the Democratic Party should do, which seems to be to not vote for Elizabeth, which is the very reason we should. They are scared of her.
