I think a lot of the posts and articles about how impeachment is still a big deal even if the Senate completely protects Trump because the SHAME will follow all these people to their graves and beyond..........are completely ridiculous and not helpful. These people have no shame. They don't give a damn about what some left-wing web-site says about them 20 years from now because they know most people don't actually care RIGHT NOW while this horrendous stuff is happening. If we keep acting like shame matters to them, we are going to lose the larger fight.

(53,787 posts)it out doesn't bring in the bucks it once did. In fact, his name is being taken down from buildings.
Same for his daughter's brand.
That certainly matters to them.

(14,118 posts)happening before this is all over. You're right, it's impossible and futile to reason with people who don't know what reason is, or to attempt to shame anyone who has no shame.

(7,809 posts)I read your post 3 times and I still can't see what your advice is. You talk about a larger fight, but not a word on how to conduct one.
Thanks. Very helpful. Your concern is noted.

(11,276 posts)Most here are delighted with impeachment and want even more punishment. We are happy as hell. Sorry.

(91 posts)I definitely was not putting down the impeachment effort. I just think it is important for those in Congress or the media to not focus on the "shame" or act like it is important. I do not want shame to be treated like an acceptable alternative to actual accountability. It's not even an acceptable consolation prize.
