I got my Social Security statement for next year

Fellow SS members, we're in the money next year. We are getting a whopping 1.6% pay increase.

I don't know about you but it sure seems like my grocery bills have gone up more than 1.6%.

How long before Putin and MBS tell Trump that the price of gas is going up? We should be good until after the election.

Just wanted to break the good news to everyone.

Just in time for our lil town to announce an increase in the monthly combined water-sewer-garbage bill of.....
$18.00.

No offsets for increased Medicare annual deductible/monthly premium, tho.

which has gone down to $2/gal. I'm fortunate I still make money in other ways, but I have friends who are spending more than half their SSI on rent in public housing in Ohio. I'd be hard pressed to make it and keep a car maintained and insured on what they have left.

If the Orange Shitgibon thinks made any friends with that crumb he's a bigger jack-ass than even I thought.

I wonder if he's considered legalizing pot to try to tempt the 'younger' vote. Wait till he finds out, its us alter kakers and alte hexes on SSI smoking the most of it.

look no further than England,France,Spain,Italy, and others. We here in the States have been doing the same crap since Reagan. Cut Social Programs and give the savings to the Oligarchs.

lost his pension and health insurance after 30 years at a trucking company and 30+ years as a Teamster when he retired. That was back in the days of Williams and Jackie Presser. He died with no insurance less than five years after he retired in the late '70's.

If there wasn't an increase in Medicare premiums, I'd get an extra $19 a month. With the increase, my payment went up $13 a month.

so many years (me, at least 40+ years), and they have the nerve to try and take away or shrink our SS pay by claiming that the deficits are out of control, despite them constantly increasing the military budget by an obscene amount.

What's more important, SS pay for our elderly or a military budget that's out of control? I'd say that the health and welfare of our SS beneficiaries is more important, so they won't go hungry, or lack for anything. Even the SS amounts are too small by far for many of seniors and that's a crime in itself. Don't get me wrong, I know that a strong military is important too, for our safety and security, but how much is enough?

Followed a day later by a letter from the county, telling me that the SS windfall caused an equal reduction in my SNAP benefits.

There ain't no win.
