Susan Collins 'Open' to Impeachment Witnesses

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) told Maine Public Radio that she is “open” to calling witnesses as part of the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump but added that it is still too early to decide who, if anyone, should be called.

Said Collins: “I am open to witnesses. I think it’s premature to decide who should be called until we see the evidence that is presented and get the answers to the questions that we senators can submit through the Chief Justice to both sides.”

Open to voting her out of office. She will never be able to be trusted after all she's done, and should be replaced ASAP.

“Open to” is so much stronger than “demands.”

Not!

She can’t be gone soon enough.

"As long as it is Biden, his son or anyone else who will help our side" Little Susie flip flops but ALWAYS does what the (R)'s want her to do. Too long in office, time to go.

He's saying that the negotiations re: any witnesses have to wait until after the articles are presented - by which time the House has lost whatever leverage it had left.

Shut up and sit down!

Your concern is a waste of oxygen.

You have a binary choice to make: Act like an American patriot or as a Republican. You cannot do both.

It's time to decide how history will judge you.

Sadly, I already know that you and your party are traitors.

... this is McConnell's position, also. They want to go by the rule that they are "open" to calling or not calling witnesses that McConnell and Trump's lawyers deem necessary... Susan is simply putting a spin on her agreement.

Her concerns are like thoughts and prayers after a mass shooting. Useless and meaningless.
