Sam Johnson, chair of the Soc. Sec. subcommittee
introduced a bill to cut Soc Sec!
It would raise the retirement age to 69!
workers making $50K would see reductions up to 35%!
Every income bracket would get hit!
... millennials would see their benefits cut in half!

Repub from Texas. Luckily Dems still control the House. This won't go anywhere.

(54,770 posts)2. Johnson is no longer a Congressperson. He did have a 2016 proposal that would cut SS, but it went
nowhere.
Even the so-called "Catfood Commission" recommended increasing benefits for those at the lower end of the SS benefits scale, so I doubt the proposal called for cutting benefits for people who made $50K.
I like some of the stuff on 4Mvp's Twitter page (is that what it's called?), but not sure he's an expert on SS.
