Psychiatrist: Trump's projection on Chairman Schiff is 'primitive'

Psychiatrist Lance Dodes joins Lawrence O'Donnell to discuss Donald Trump’s behavior abroad as the impeachment investigation advances at home. Dr. Dodes says President Trump is "running a really simple program" with "limited capacity" and exemplifying "early emotional development."

"Crooked Hillary" was classic projection. It's what he does best, he's very transparent about it, and it's kind of amazing how so many can't see right through it even though it couldn't be more obvious.

by just calling her "Nancy". I think the "Crazy Nancy" jab is just a couple of weeks old, although I may have missed earlier cheap shots.

There have been reports that he was surprised she followed through and succeeded in impeaching him when she had been hesitant earlier this year.

Gosh, if I hadn't slept through Psych 101 in my freshman year, I might have some idea about what's going on here.

there's NOTHING admirable about Trump - if he had not inherited wealth, he'd be NOWHERE

If Trump had not been given a fortune and shielded from the consequences of his behavior as a young man, he might not be such a complete asshole today.

He has always been a boorish twat, but he seems to be losing his grip on proportion. This may be partly because the feedback he is getting is that everything seems to be working no matter how outrageous it is, and/or partly because he is entirely losing the ability to tell when something is truly outrageous. The more he gets like this the greater the chances he will finally encounter a "have you no decency" moment when a critical mass of those who support him simply can't do the doublethink any more.
