The can either have a real trial with witnesses and the release of documents, or they can show the country that they are just covering for Trump. It will probably be the latter because the evidence would just be too damning if it all came out. Trump will claim exoneration, but nothing will change as far as the perceptions from the general population. Half the people will still believe that he should have been removed form office. Most people will think that he did something wrong.
