Now he's threatening sanctions--even harsher than those against Iran--if Iraq kicks us

out! AND he says we won't leave unless they pay us for the embassy compound! He refers to it as an airbase, but he almost certainly means the embassy compound. (Emphasis added to excerpt.)

Trump also said that he will put “very big sanctions” on Iraq if they force troops out.

“We have a very extraordinarily expensive airbase that’s there,” Trump told the press pool on Air Force One. “It cost billions of dollars to build. Long before my time. We’re not leaving unless they pay us back for it.”

“If they do ask us to leave, if we don’t do it in a very friendly basis. We will charge them sanctions like they’ve never seen before ever. It’ll make Iranian sanctions look somewhat tame,” he added.

US troops from their country. The orange fool is creating an atmosphere in the ME that will unite ME nations in a solid front against the US, cooperating with each other to cope with the insane idiot's threats.

If Trump refuses to withdraw US troops on Iraqi demand, he will be in violation of international law yet again. He will get no international support for sanctions against Iraq or any other ME nation involved in this Trump-created fiasco.

He has promoted isolationism. He will get his wish as the rest of the world isolates the US in the name of world peace and refuses to cooperste or work with the US on anything. Looks like other nations have tired of Trump's bullying before Americans have.

If you’re a big enough asshole people back down. Look at how he ran his business, his image, his campaign, his opponents, his accusers, Democrats, foreign leaders that disagree with him, Americans that disagree with him from gold star families to disabled reporters. 1 thing that is absolutely true about Donald Trump, for his own insecure ego, he can never look weak and never lose a fight. That’s why we all have to hope that cooler heads prevail because Iran isn’t Iraq and DJT will do anything to look strong and victorious and I leave absolutely nothing off the table in saying that. The entire Middle East will be a shit show because his only “plan” is what makes him look strong.
