Consider the ramifications. He cannot claim that his late night tweets as just rantings or jokes. Now he has given statement that his tweets are his policies and legitimate indications of his plans, and intentions. No longer are his tweets the equivalent of a "Fireside Chat."
His late night locker room drivel is a record of his stated intent. If he deletes another tweet, it should be considered an impeachable offense.
