Newsweek: Trump Is 'More Unhinged By The Hour'

Trump Is 'More Unhinged By The Hour,' U.S. Senator Warns Amid Escalating Iraq, Iran Tensions: 'A Very Dangerous Time'

A U.S. Senator accused President Donald Trump of becoming "more unhinged by the hour" as tensions with both Iraq and Iran escalate further following America's assassination of a senior Iranian general near Baghdad airport.

And Brett McGurk, a former top diplomat and national security adviser who served in the past three administrations said Trump's threats to Iran are stretching "the boundaries of our constitutional republic to a real extreme."

"President Trump is more unhinged by the hour," Senator Chris Van Hollen, a Maryland Democrat, wrote on Twitter. "Threatening war crimes and now threatening our Iraqi allies. Telling Congress via Twitter that he can start a war with Iran. This is a very dangerous time. Congress must demand that he comply with the Constitution."

(snip) "We need to presume that we are now at war with Iran. I don't say that lightly. We can hope for the best, but the presumption is we're at war with Iran"...

McGurk served under Trump as a special presidential envoy to the global coalition for countering ISIS.

Besides, I think pooty told him he has to, and -45 wanted to anyway, break everything real quick before we can kick him out. If he succeeds, we'll be ruled by 145 and his spawn, with instructions from the motherland, forever. He's here to force America to roll over on our back and let them have their way with us. -45 hates this country because we told him we don't like his mo, won't loan him money or give him what he wants, and we certainly don't love him like he thinks he's entitled to have...

It's getting down to the wire, now.

Sheesh, I predicted, a couple days ago, that this month would be a roller coaster ride and I thought it would get rolling mid-week. Guess I was off by a couple days. It's only going to get more intense this whole month and I am looking forward to it with hope and dismay. I rue the ugliness we have to deal with but I hope that we are successful is saving our country.

For what's happening now, and will soon be happening from enabling him, and Putin to do this to us and our country. Trump lied that there was an imminent threat to use for his political benefit, while we pay thru the nose for everything from higher, much higher oil. This will also drive the deficit a lot higher also.

Trumpy will NOT allow the Constitution to stand. He will NOT allow Congress to resist or intervene. Trumpy is accumulating too much power. He's using every possible loophole to skirt restraint by Congress and the Constitution. Unless Congress AGGRESSIVELY opposes Trumpy, he'll run away with the entire nation under his unitary command, and Congress and the rest of us will be helpless.

For those of you who were skeptical that Trumpy aspires to assuming a dictator role, watch and learn. The logic of his decisions, from candidacy to now, point to his assuming the position of Dictator. He either must be stopped and thrown out of office now, or he'll never surrender his power.

Let's stop assuming that the Constitution and the weight of the federal government establishment is bigger than Trumpy. He's been dismantling everything since taking office, much of it under the Twitter radar. He listens to no one except our Russian adversaries. He's a traitor, a Russian agent, and a batshit crazy madman. And he's quickly gathering so much power that he's about to kill anyone who threatens his authority.

And the Republican Party stands by Trumpy's every tweet, threat, lie, rant, and distortion. They stand by Trumpy's tragically destructive decisions and judgements. They stand by the dismantling of the Republic. That's the Republican Party.

1) Trump has ZERO intention of complying with ANYTHING that hinders his exercise of power at his own whims. He is stone walling Congress, he is guilty of Obstruction of Congress and Justice as a result and he is flat out lying approximately 50-75 times A DAY...there is no credibility in the government announcements this man makes, and it is getting worse by the second.

2) 2020 'election' is already compromised anywhere there are electronic voting machines and NO PAPER RECORDS - I consider every single one of those precincts to be compromised and fraudulent before they are even manipulated. If there is no verifiable record of the vote totals, there is no actual election being conducted, period. Any precinct resorting to this manipulated and fraudulent system should be necessarily disenfranchised.

3) EVEN IF we show up in record numbers and vote him down by 10 Million+ votes, he will declare the election was 'rigged' and that there must be an FBI investigation under the auspices of the Attorney General to determine how he was cheated...and Barr will again fulfill his destiny with great aplomb and vigor. The election so many hold out hope for as a saving grace is nothing of the sort, I guarantee that.

4) There are ALREADY asinine polls of 2024 GOP preferences for POTUS showing his fucking idiot children as leading candidates for the office...Ivanka and Don Jr., who between the two of them MIGHT be able to hit double digit functioning brain cells, are actually being promoted as successors...this is real dictator shit in real time and NO ONE is up in arms, no one in the Senate or the House is able to tie this all together and end this Constitutional nightmare because 43% of the people in the this "nation" are essentially irredeemable assholes and think this is all A-OK...

5) Trump is going to invade Iran. He is going to get 1,000's of this nations sons and daughters killed, he is going to waste TRILLIONS more dollars on this idiotic idea and in the end, he is going to launch nuclear weapons against another nation, forever dooming the United States to the neighborhood of the thuggish dictatorships and the ash heap of history.

His ultimate goal is now and always has been to go down in history as the first US President to use nuclear weapons in a strictly offensive capacity (though Truman's use of the bomb will always be controversial, it WAS in service to ending the bloodiest human conflict in history, no matter how the situation looks in retrospect).

Toddler Trump wants to see the loudest bombs go "BOOM!!!!" and that is about as deep as his 'thinking' goes...

We have become the shit hole country now. We abandon friends, ignore allies, destroy alliances, wipe our POTUS' ample ass on treaties and agreements, pollute without remorse, imprison without pretext or justification, separate families and so much more. We are an international pariah and once the Russians pull the plug on Trumpy and approach Europe and China with a proposal to hit the USA with trade sanctions and punitive measures for our out of control dictator, the whole thing is going to collapse in spasms of hate and vitriol, the likes of which have not been seen since Napoleon was deposited on Elba.

The only question left is whether or not anyone will stop Trump and end this nightmare or if he will get away with it like he has everything else in his entire rotten, criminal disgusting life. He is the absolute worst that humanity has to offer in every aspect of life. I can't tell you how many times a day I wish for him to keel over dead of a coronary attack of any kind.

There's too much "It can't happen here" thinking in this country. And "We'll just vote him out," in spite of the knowledge that our electoral process has huge flaws. And then there's the 63 million of our fellow citizens who voted for this conman and wouldn't mind a dictatorship as long as their guy is the dictator.

He made it crystal clear in the republican debates, when asked how he would respond to military leaders refusing to carry out unlawful orders along the lines of his statement that we must take out the terrorists' families, and he answered that they won't refuse him, because he's "a strong leader".

And even if we removed the entire administration and rolled back everything they've done, we would still be left with the fact that 60 million Americans voted for someone who told them as clearly as one can imagine, that he thought of himself as a dictator.

The DOJ has been fully co-opted as an extra-judicial arm of the unitary executive branch theory. Barr exists solely to do the POTUS' bidding. There is no pretext to actual justice or the rule of law any longer.

WE DO NOT HAVE A FUNCTIONING REPUBLIC....unless the Republican Party can be saved from itself and its own traitorous 'leaders' like McConnell, Graham, McCarthy, Jordan, Gohmert, King and the rest of the zealots and crazies running around now, there will be a quick non-trial in the Senate for the Impeachment issue and then there will be a rigged election and a war in Iran without allies, without legal authority at all and without adequate planning or understanding of what that will mean.

We are at the crossroads now. What happens in the next 6 weeks will determine the fate of the nation for the next 6 decades and I am not being hyperbolic in the least...

It's not staffers who are sharing personal observations.

Trump is walled off; we don't KNOW that he's "more unhinged". The WH is all loyalists now.

To me, he looks like the same self-aggrandizing Solipsist he's always been, filled with bravado and hubris, utterly lacking in empathy and basic decency.

He thinks he's doing a real estate deal. He doesn't understand the difference.

If Trump cannot save himself, he will endeavor to take as many people with him as possible; maximize the damage.

I've noticed that many of his former surrogates, the pro-Trump frog chorus, has mainly fallen silent.

Internationally I find Netanyahu's behaviorist cowardly. After fomenting much trouble he is now suddenly trying to fade into the woodwork-sort of like James Come who worked hard to create the initial election mess, trying to fade into the blue draperies in the White House.

No profiles in courage among the anti-democracy enablers of the big bully.

We are not human sacrifices to be slaughtered, we are citizens in what is supposed to be a democratic republic. Your job is to take back the powers of the Congress and put an end to the misbegotten Imperial Presidency-Twilight of the Gods-cheap imitation gold-plated road show. The rest of us need to start building a country that works for us.

The thousand year Reich of Adolf Hitler destroyed Germany in just 12 years. The trump Dynasty farce of a White House laundry operation has rotted through in three.
