So...I drove by Mar a Lago this morning.

I know, why bother, but I had business in the area and I was morbidly curious.

The Madman of course has departed yesterday. Saw a massive C-17 transport plane flying in to PBI presumably for clean up detail.

Even though he’s no longer there, it’s scary How unprotected and insecure that place is. There literally was a gate wife open where I could have probably driven right in without any suspicion. God knows how easy it might be for someone who might want to plant a bug in the place and get a shitload of national security details in the process.

It’s got a large part that borders the Intercoastal and parts of it are secured by little more than hedges, with the building right there along the road.

I’ve been to the White House and know how ridiculously secure it is. And that was back in the early 90s and not close to what it is now.

In no way, shape or form should this be considered a secure location at all. It’s insane.

“The Beast” - the presidential limo as well as the various other Secret Service vehicles, (the Suburbans) are moved around by the Globemaster.

They will often fly a helicopter as well, depending on where he is going. If that’s the case they will use a second C-17 or a C-5

I personally don't care if it's secure or not.

I'd be curious to know what the protocols were when Bloatus was in residence. Streets cordoned off, ICWW patrolled by the CG etc.

You KNOW it had to be stressful to run security for the first black President in our country. After 8 years of fending off a country half full of racists and kooks, I was hoping they'd get a less stressful assignment, but noooo.

I toured the WH in the late 90s when the Clintons still lived there. Then went again I think when the Bushs lived there. You had to have advance tickets, no backpacks, pretty sure cameras not allowed. Lots of scrutiny and no lingering for long anywhere. They kept the line moving along. And there was one way in.

The fact that the Southern WH is an easy target is probably at tRump’s request. tRump has enough ego for 12 people so he probably thinks Putin will look out after him. Just let him keep thinking he and Putin are friends. Just like with Kim. One day he’ll bite down on a burger only instead of cheese he’ll get a mouthful of polonium. I wish I could see his face when he realizes he’s been had by one of his “friends”. Putin will know exactly how to get at him when he gets everything he wants from that gasbag.

it was much more secure - they closed a lot of roads which made it very hard to get close.

I normally bike past there when he's not there. When he is there the road is closed both directions. Sometimes I'll ride up there anyway and turn around just before the traffic circle, I live south on the island.

Cops are posted along the road looking you over as you pass, big money overtime.

The place is a shithole compared to his neighbors.

when he's down there. There's no need for major security when he is not there. When he is, so is the security.

and you got the bridge going one way, and the ocean going the other. They've probably have the whole island under surveillance every which way....and there are so many other well-guarded estates. It's been a long time since I've been there, but even in the height of the season, the place never seemed that crowded.

that nothing has happened so far given how insecure it is. Other than of course members have inside information about things that are happening even moreso than our Congress . . .

They have my shitty little drone completely grounded for a 30 mile radius when he is in town. 30 miles! The thing will only fly a mile or two at the most. It’s absurd!

The stupid thing is that anyone who is up to no good probably would have better equipment to bypass the restrictions so it doesn’t really help. Just pisses on a lot of drone owners.
