(14,764 posts)He will NEVER testify. Mitch won't allow it, and there aren't 4 republicans willing to force it.
The house has to subpoena him. His testimony has to be forced, and released.

(23,249 posts)I cannot imagine that Shitgibbon would stop at murdering hundreds if he thought it would help keep him in power. He didn't lose a wink of sleep over the killing of Khashoggi, he hasn't lost a wink over the caging of children and the forcible breakup of immigrant families.

"former White House officials and people close to Mr. Bolton have indicated that his testimony would likely be damning to Mr. Trump and put additional pressure on moderate Republicans to consider convicting him."
zentrum
(9,865 posts).....been reading that Rump's drone strike on Iraq was a message to Bolton. It's just the sort of mad war-mongering move Bolton would approve of. Bolton never saw a war delivered by the USA on Muslims that he didn't love.
So he'll temper his testimony even if he goes through with it.

(22,695 posts)It's very disappointing to see it but knowing that it exists and that as we get closer to elections it will probably increase, is the first step in eliminating it. It's why the "trash thread" option is such a gift.

(2,072 posts)When in doubt assume Republicans will always do the wrong thing.
If Bolton is allowed to testify he'll cover for Trump. If his intention is to tell the truth then other Republicans will block him from testifying. When you assume that they're all willfully evil it just makes things an awfully lot easier to predict.

(7,432 posts)Bolton cant lie under oath. He will be subject to direct examination. Prosecutors will be dealing with facts and corroboration. Opinions may or may not be requested, and may be irrelevant anyway. Bolton is an attorney. He knows what direct examination is, and he will respond accordingly.

He conferred with Moscow Mitch before posting his announcement: https://www.democraticunderground.com/100212845527

(21,491 posts)about the much anticipated testimony from Bolton. If he is coordinating with Moscow Mitch before agreeing to testify, his testimony will be worthless and a huge disappointment to people who expect it to be a great revelation.

(2 posts)Me thinks Bolton better be careful. The last guy to see Jeffrey Epstein alive might be on his way to pay Bolton a visit. He better get his testimony into words asap. He better have life insurance and at the least long term care insurance. Holy cow in ten years I want to see this movie.
