Why we need national health care

I turned 65 and went to pick up my first prescriptions. I take a generic statin and generic blood pressure drugs. Last time these were filled under my employer insurance there was no charge for one and maybe $12 for the other. So when I check out the clerk says it will be $250 for the three month supply of these drugs. Turns out they did not think I had any insurance even though I had transitioned to medicare advantage with the same HMO I had been with for years. When it was all straightened out the charge was $38 dollars.

I don't know how the uninsured deal with these high drug costs, even for common generic drugs. Shame on the United States and double shame on the Repubs in states that would not adopt Obamacare!

The US system puts profits above patient care. There is no logic to the system other than it is designed to allow for profits.
