I couldn't find this posted on DU already and it isn't news, it was penned Dec 19, 2019.
For these reasons, we demand your immediate resignation as Attorney General and that of U.S. Attorney Durham.
WASHINGTON, D.C. Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), a senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, sent a letter to Attorney General William Barr and U.S. Attorney John Durham on Dec. 19, 2019, demanding they resign for acting as mouth pieces for Donald Trump rather than public servants bound to the rule of law. The letter is also signed by Reps. Sheila Jackson-Lee (TX), Rashida Tlaib (MI), William Lacy Clay (MO), Jared Huffman (CA), Jan Schakowsky (IL), Frank Pallone (NJ), David Cicilline (RI), Raúl Grijalva (AZ), Pramila Jayapal (WA) and Steve Cohen (TN). - HankJohnson.house.gov

(21,487 posts)during the House hearings. His letter is excellent, of the quality I would expect from him.
But, alas, it is not going to be heeded. And there is nothing we can do about that, except, perhaps to use his words and the values they represent to arouae public opinion and action regarding Trump and his team of democracy destroyers.

(6,699 posts)Some are from my home state, some from my region...but sadly NOT the worthless jamie hererra-buetler that represents me from Washington state.
I certainly hope we can change that in 2020. How she ever gets re-elected blows my mind.

(5,124 posts)I grew up in an evangelical family. So when I started questioning what I had always been taught. It was really a weird feeling in the beginning. My family didn't understand. They basically wanted to perform an exorcism when I told them I was agnostic. LOL.
Then I heard Rep Johnson speak about being a buddhist. He wasn't the first black person I had heard say he was buddhist, but it was the first black person since walking away from religion that I paid attention to. He seemed so at peace talking about it. I said to myself, there are other people that actually are NOT black baptist, pentecostal, etc? that are happy with their choice and don't think they are going to go to hell? He somehow made me realize at that time, it was ok.
By the way he also had strong words for Rep Wilson's infamous you lie statement towards President Obama. He said if Rep Wilson was not reprimanded. It would be like allowing the people in white hoods to ride again. I'm paraphrasing. Something to that effect. He was widely criticized in GA for saying that. Go figure. Not Wilson. But Rep Johnson! Now fast forward to today. What to we have? A white supremacist in the White House and yes, damn it people in white hoods riding again and the president saying they are very fine people!
