Its Raining in Australia

After 5 months without rain, they are getting some relief
(The video is old but it is really raining in Australia and more expected next week in areas around the country. It's not going to fix their problems but it is going to help)

As a resident of Santa Rosa, CA, which was hard hit by fires two years ago and had to evacuate last year because of a new fire, I know what these people are going through. It is not fun.

for it to have much of an effect on the current fires. That seemed like a stretch to me but I am not there nor am I a meteorologist. I do know that a change in winds saved San Diego's La Jolla when the Cedar Fire was going straight to them then the ocean in 2003.

The setting for the film is supposed to be 1930's Australia into the start of WWII and the Japanese attack there following Pearl Harbor.

The film shows what used to be the weather pattern of dry spell followed by heavy rains when everything turns lush again. It is the typical yearly pattern. But climate change has made the dry spells longer and hotter, with relief rains coming later and less reliably strong. I heard a BBC report that the humidity level this time was at 5%. That is why they now need heavy rains for at least a week.
