Look, we have to beat Trump but at this point, we need the senate more.

We must have the Senate in my opinion. We stop this fucking asshole McConnell, we stop just about everything. All we need is four seats. One of them has to be Moscow Mitch. This guy is one of the most miserable bitch I have ever seen. Take him out and there are no more Judges. No more supreme court judges. All our bills sent from the house would see the light of day again.Moscow Bitch has got to go just like Trump.

So the two kinda of go hand in hand. Maybe it is possible to beat Trump and not take back the Senate, but it would be almost impossible to take back the Senate without beating Trump.

There are lots of great senate races to support and I’m grateful that he has challengers but it’s not an ‘or’ thing.

and I imagine our best chance will be if people blame senate Republicans along with Trump (as we all should!) and throw them out with Trump, a coattails situation on the way out.

winning the white house while failing to take the senate is far more probably than the reverse scenario of taking the senate while donnie gets re-elected.

that said, a slim majority in the senate might not be particularly useful. donnie already proved rather inept at getting legislation through congress, all he really did was sign the obvious tax cut for the rich. now that we hold the house nothing overly conservative will pass, anyway.

as for appointments, well, i'm not so sure a bare majority in the senate will stop much. republicans have a long tradition of being able to find one or two stray democrats who will agree to a nominee who is extremely right-wing but capable of pretending to be moderate for the hearings....

We must do both things, or neither will happen. Period.

What is needed is a massive, historical turnout of unified Democratic voters. Unless that happens, we will get nothing.

Make them sweat, continue the inquiry, subpoena Bolton to the house intelligence committee.

If Mitch gets impatient and tries a vote to change the rules for a quick dismissal without articles or managers, that’s good for us in November.
