Shut the fucking Senate down.

Defend the integrity of our Constitution. There is to be a TRIAL after an impeachment. Nothing should happen in the Senate at all until Moscow Mitch agrees to carry out the duties of his oath.

The truth is worth fighting for.

Last night I re-watched the second hour of Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr's documentary on Reconstruction. I bring it up because what they got away with then (and by "they" I mean RWNJs, regardless of the name of the party at the time) they are getting away with now, and have gotten away with many times, and I don't know exactly what to do about it, but, whatever it is, we need to learn it, and it isn't going to happen without emotional investment, because it is their emotional investment that we are up against.

They simply dig in their heels, ignore the law, do dreadful things, will not listen, will not compromise, and in general act like two-year-olds, until we decide it isn't worth it any longer, and give in.

If they keep doing that, and we keep doing that, no progress will ever be effectively made in any area of government OR society. It may seem to temporarily, but it will evaporate.

I cannot wish people were not so emotionally invested. I can and do wish people who are emotionally invested would give more thought and effort into determining what can be done which will work - and will stick.

Which makes me think that all rules have been suspended and we can be just as lawless as they are. There are no rules or procedures anymore, or haven't you noticed. We are the only ones playing by the rules and they are flipping us off. THERE ARE NO RULES. They have set the tone and it doesn't make sense for us to behave when they do not.

we are POST democracy and most haven't figured that out yet..

STOLEN senate elections is why they have control...GOP never enters a race without stealing it, they often are unsuccessful but they always steal, always.

We've gummed up the works at a record level... but there's a limit to what can be done when you're in the minority. They modified the rules that had been used to really slow down nominations... and now they've confirmed a painful number of judges.

Fillibusters of legislation would still be effective of course... but now that we control the House that doesn't happen very often.

Please remember that people VOTED these people into power in 2016. Republicans OR Democrats would control. Every knows that. These are their doing.

Every single able voter who didn't vote Democrat to keep them out of power helped throw the nation to the mercies of corrupt, fascistic Republicans, who'd long promised to destroy what we grew up with, and much worse from Trump himself.

And yes, there was massive election subversion. Virtually all to elect Republicans. But we all had at least some idea of the danger and acted according to our natures. 40 million shrugged and chose by sitting on their fingers.

Don't like that these destroyers are acting legally with the power given them by the constitution? Don't blame you. But every two years, so far without fail, we have the chance for constitutionally mandated revolution that's far more powerful and guaranteed than bloody violence doomed to fail.

301 days to our next chance to show more of us have learned from dreadful mistakes, or at least gotten scared.

so presidents and senators get to break the law because they were voted in? And we should blame other voters and be pissed at them? I don’t know about storming the capitol or anything but what if it comes to that point? If we know that elections have become rigged at some point then hasn’t our constitution been broken? If the senate refuses to follow their duty then what?

Things are in fact looking pretty bleak for the US right now. I don’t think we are at the point of riot or revolution or anything like that but shit isn’t looking real normal right now either.

If one wants to change that there are two options: change the composition of the Senate, or defeat the United States Army via a successful shooting revolution. Anything else falls into the willfully, mind-bogglingly ignorant category as trying to remove the electoral college.

There are a lot of ways to change public perception and thereby put more pressure on senators than taking up arms or waiting to vote.

our democratic republic and its constitution.

Republican leaders and the RW religious and plutocrats they serve are trying to destroy it because their white male Christian party can't win national elections any more. Hostile foreign enemies have joined them to bring down the planet's remaining superpower.

We Democrats are the other side they all must defeat in order to succeed.

The very constitution and systems of law that we're protecting are our great strengths and weapons. Without them they win. Completely.

Thus, Democrats have to protect the continuity of our institutions from them to the best of our ability until the electorate realizes the danger enough to correct their past mistakes, i.e., vote the subversives out of power and support repairing and rooting their corruption out of government.

So joining the Republicans in destroying the institution of senate and joining them in abandoning the rule of law, all because voters put them in in control of the senate and they're misusing their power, is simply not an option.

The Fact Sheets under the Blog tab list the ugly details about the unfit, biased judges corruptly rammed through the judicial confirmation process by Trump and Moscow Mitch as they pack the courts.

The Fact Sheets are one page, quick to read and easy to share. The post on each judge also includes extensive background information if you want to know more.

It's not enough to say these judges are bad. To persuade, we must share the specific facts of their own records.

Trump and McConnell are counting on the resumes of their hand-picked extremist judges going generally unnoticed. The opposite needs to happen - we need to shine a light on them. Download Fact Sheets and post them, share them, tweet them, mail them or hand them out. Force accountability on every GOP senator who voted to confirm these judges. The American people deserve answers from these senators about their votes.

Who needs to see this information? Friends. Neighbors. Colleagues. Lawyers. Law students. Law student organizations. Job placement officers at law schools. Women's professional organizations. Diversity officers at any corporation or State Bar...

Is four republicans in the Senate to switch party to get Moscow Mitch replaced with a Democrat to control the Senate. They have to be scared this would also mean some republicans get exposed for taking Putin bribes to not convict, and for his helping them get re-elected.I do think this could happen with some knowing they'll face possible prison if they continue being corrupted and compromised from Putin and from others in other countries., and from trump. They can see they will get exposed , and Moscow Mitch must be pretty worried it's about to expose him too.
