World Mental Health Coalition releases new statement regarding Trump Dangerousness

URGENT COMMUNICATION TO CONGRESS
RE: THE PSYCHOLOGICAL DANGEROUSNESS OF DONALD J. TRUMP
(Submitted on January 8, 2020)

We have been seriously warning about this for some time. Now our warnings take on a startling urgency. The U.S. Congress must act immediately and forcefully without further delay.

We have a U.S. president who is psychologically and mentally both dangerous and incapacitated. His presentation is consistent with a person who, when his falsely inflated self-image is questioned, or when his emotional need for adulation is thwarted, lashes out in an attempt to restore his sense of potency and command over others.

All senior military leaders in the chain of command are required to pass yearly psychological as well as physical evaluations. Only the person known as the commander-in-chief is exempt from this requirement, but at this time he is, in fact, the person in most need and who is a maximum danger.

There are clear medical and legal standards of care and protection to which we in the medical profession respond for the evaluation and constraint of such individuals.

We have a consensus that persons with risk factors such as our president would clearly be required to submit to an evaluation, regardless of choice. We must also remember that his position makes him more dangerous, not less: he has the most destructive weapons and the greatest war-making powers at his disposal, but his mental defect also makes him a vulnerable target for manipulation by extremist forces within our country as well as in foreign nations. Our adversaries are highly likely to have his psychological profile, while we ourselves are kept in the dark.

Our country is understandably now widely condemned as acting with illegal aggression and violence. International polls clearly indicate that many people throughout the world consider our country the greatest danger to world peace. This is consistent with large amounts of data that indicate that we have worsened an already-unstable region. At this critical time, we simply cannot wait any longer to deal with the dangerous situation caused by a mentally compromised person acting in erratic, impulsive, reckless, and destructive ways.

The power to declare war and to finance war is clearly constitutionally vested with the Congress. The Congress must act immediately to take any war-making powers out of his hands. Assessment and management of psychological dangers rest on the medical community, and it is imperative that the Congress be equipped with accurate information. We urge the Congress to consult with us for a profile, if not evaluation, and to take seriously the mental health aspects that are at play in this mentally impaired president.

Emphasis mine.

That is the entire statement. Link: https://dangerouscase.org/dangerousness_of_donald_trump/

This is a growing group of mental health professionals headed by Dr. Bandy Lee, editor of "The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump", the updated version of which I cannot recommend highly enough.

And I am alarmed at the number of people I know who support
trump. Most of my wealthy friends support Trump, while my not so wealthy clients also support Trump. Someone else said it best that supporting trump allows people to be the worst self, I gives them a license to hate which overcomes every other emotion. I am going to dinner this weekend with two big Trumper‘s. I will carefully and methodically, with surgical precision, ask them questions which will destroy their reasons for supporting trump. It won’t change their minds, but I will make them look like the immoral fools that they are. Both think they’re high and mighty Christians.

The ones I know are vile human beings and feel superior to everyone. They agree with Pompeo, starting a war with Iran is necessary to bring about the Second Coming. They want to be raptured and they believe "wars and rumors of wars" is all you need to hear to know it's imminent. They are going to heaven.

It's hard to tell them from suicide bombers who kill themselves and others for the promise of virgins in heaven.

Be glad you don't know these people. I live with one. I'm doing my duty caring for her, but her religion bears no resemblance to the religion she raised me with. I first noticed her changing in the early 80's when she became obsessed with the end times. The world would be better place if the rapture would take all of them and let us clean up the mess they leave.

what they do daily just might mean they aren't heaven bound, but down where it's very hot all the time. Maybe they've forgotten the mandatory commandment to LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. WHATSOEVER YOU'VE DONE TO THE LEAST OF MY BRETHREN, YOU'VE DONE TO ME.

I'm thinkin very few of those Christians follow that advice.

Put out by "President Loco", as Ana Navarro so aptly calls him. I think the book will swell to at least twice its original size and thickness with the latest Iran Edition.

Seems like when there is anything controversial going on, such as now, Gardner has his staff NOT answer the phones. They just don't. Not in any of his offices throughout Colorado. I go line by line, and no answer.

Talk about non-responsive to constituents.

Are getting worse more every day now, while republicans ignore them, and continue helping him corrupt our government, and destroy the rule of law, and our Democracy for personal political gains instead. They also protect him to hide their corruption and crimes, and their consequences for it,. This will only get much worse from trump, not better endangering this country, and the world unless they stop this nightmare. The American people will hold them accountable and their party will be destroyed for their actions, and in actions also. We're watching in real time a illegitimate president self destructing before our eyes.
