Also, Texas has way too many nut jobs in the House. If they lose a couple of seats, it could be good for our country.

Congressionals are important, make no mistake but the state House is critical to the redistricting of both. DeLay has been gone for years. Louie will die in office. That is a seriously red part of the state. Bleeding Red.
We replaced a few lunatics in 2018 and gained several seats in the TX House. A bunch of the Rs are retiring. There is a runoff in special election coming up, and the top vote getter was a Democratic WOman agains 6 Republican men. Now it is down to 2; runoffs are notoriously low turnout elections but there is a huge ground game to get Dems to vote in that runoff.

The US Census is hiring temporary workers but I don't know how what a state contributes actually fits in to the whole picture.

(22,270 posts)Basically you verify how long you have lived at the residence; how many adults and what ages and genders; how many kids with ages and genders. There are some statistical things whidh are used by a vast number of organizations (non government) to determine all sorts of things.
Since the citizenship question is off the table, there is less for ICE to work with.
