Trump job creation has roughly equaled the number joining the labor force by getting old enough to work or moving here. The unemployment rate has declined because so many have stopped looking for work.

Job growth is mostly slowing because we've pretty much tapped out the labor force. There are 8 million open positions and fewer than 6 million people looking for work.

If the labor market participation rate is unchanged, and that is the case while Trump has been President, doesn’t that mean that the number of new jobs has pretty much matched the number of additional working age people? In other words doesn’t it mean that a decline in the unemployment rate must result from more working age people deciding not to seek work?

What is wrong with that logic? Here is an article reporting no change in the labor participation rate. https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/big-problem-millions-americans-have-quit-looking-job-61722

Trump bragged in Toledo that Ohio jobs were up. They are actually falling.
