horribly abusing Native Americans to the present day - abusing "the other" of many types, including women.

RandySF, I'll submit this one for Tweet of the Day, second place:

right now some Deplorable with a persistent cough is driving a crappy car on crumbling roads past abandoned storefronts to a low-paying job and pumping his fist and going "hell yeah!" as he hears on wingnut radio about how Trump wants the Supreme Court to gut Obamacare

He is always so spot on. My only gripe with him is that he doesn't tweet enough.

Hi KY Enviro Guy! Hope all is well with you!

along with music, my granddaughter, cool documentaries, cute kid and animal videos and....(drum roll)......chocolate.....

Arguably the worst year of my life last year with the loss of my wife of 54 years, a good friend across the street and then probably the best friends of my entire life - a lovely couple across town that were like brothers and sisters. And then, along came winter.

The kids and I are just taking it one day at a time, and trying to celebrate every time things seem to be a bit better. My son just started back into college and that's seems to have helped his attitude a lot. My daughter sent me a pix of a big red-headed woodpecker on her brand-new feeder I gave her for Christmas. So.....it's the little things, including your post.

Thanks for letting me vent a little and I hope things are well with you......

I really am. Why does it always seem that tragedy seems to hit us all at once?

I am glad you can find some happiness in your children and in the little things in life. I try not to have big expectations and then the small things can sometimes bring you great joy because you don't expect them. Anyway, I wish you all the best and a Happy New Year to you! Hopefully this will be a good year for you and for the Democrats!

You can vent anytime! You always have a friend in me!

Best!

are kind, compassionate, loving and empathetic folks with good motives.

If it were not for the very resilient upbringing by my folks that suffered through the Depression and WW2, a lot of compassion I learned as well in an old-fashioned church as a kid, and the agnostic spirituality I learned later in life in a recovery program, I don't think I could make it.

I don't think my kids understand why I'm such a stoic but that explains it. I still have a lot of pain and (many days) helplessness inside. I am beginning to come out of the shell and get some help with the massive amount of paperwork involved with a family member's passing. I'm grateful my son's here to keep me company.

I am soooo grateful for your good vibes and well wishes....... .......
