When I listened to the Parnas interview last night, I believed he was telling the truth - except for about Hyde. I think he was advised to not be tied to this guy by his lawyer. Not that that the truth won’t come out under oath - and it’s possible Parnas wasn’t ordering Hyde around (but Giuliani was or Igor Fruman) and Parnas best defense is that he didn’t know the guy and he was a drunk.

But I saw Rachel Maddow talking with Lawrence O.Donnell in the handoff and he asked Rachel why Parnas is willing to talk to her and so openly and Rachel said: To stay alive - that the more is out there, he is likely to be safer and stay alive.

I tend to believe him when he said he wanted no part of that "drug deal" If he was he would be complicit in the killing of a US ambassador. He would have been dead by either falling out a window, suicided while waiting trial or a death penalty. It was self preservation. I am going to speculate that he knew of talk like that floating around with others in this circle.

Perhaps he spoke with someone at Doral about the situation in Ukraine with the ambassador. Maybe they realized how bad it would be if there were "emails" (proof) and pointed out to him how stupid it was to have that documented in emails. Maybe they did threatened his life. He panicked. Maybe he thought he would be safe if he made a scene and the cops were called.
