If I were you, I would step away from thoughts like those and consider the nation's strengths.

tRump is less popular than ever and we have an excellent chance to throw him out of office in November.

Many people loathe him and are sick and tired of his lies and dirty mouth.

We not only must defeat him.......We will.

I don't think you are overstating the case. It seems like this is a slow march towards the end of democracy, at least if he is allowed to continue to chip away at our institutions and condition the public like he has been so far.

The "show" part of it is so obvious, but the connections and methods are not, so that can put people off guard and make people who observe it or sound an alarm seem to be exaggerating or overly fearful and reactionary.

It is rather easy to simply buy the idiotic baboon, (and he is in many respects) the compulsive liar, the corrupt businessman, etc., and leave it at that or enjoy pointing those things out and criticizing him for the sake of catharsis. I think he is all of that and more, but he is an expert manipulator, showman and confidence man. I don't think it is easy to accept or for people to admit they are and have been played on both sides, in this case.

I guess a good question is, if you believe that Trump is "playing" his base, (which is really darn obvious actually) are you so sure that he is not playing the other side in a different way? I think that is a fair question and it does no harm to ask it. If it is correct, then yes, this is much, much worse than it might seem and there is a lot more at stake.

I have read a few articles from academics who are concerned about this systemic manipulation, also. It is not off the wall paranoia, but a logical viewpoint based on an amalgamation of his behaviors and actions.

the Electoral College. If he gets re-elected we will probably be facing Donald Jr. in 2024.

10 years from now we will be much more authoritarian, or much more socialist.

And it all hinges on what takes place in the next 9 months. Possibly even less time than that depending on how things shake out here in the next month or two.

History in the making, and you are there.

The America as we knew it had slavery, women could not vote, civil war, etc.
Society evolves-- I believe our society will come to it's senses and progress.
