Police: Georgia men part of white supremacist group planning murder

Authorities in North Georgia said they have arrested three men who belong to a white supremacist organization that was plotting to kill a Bartow County couple, overthrow the government and start a race war.

Floyd County Police allege the three are members of “the Base,” described as a violent organization that has a substantial presence south of Rome in the rural Silver Creek community. The group’s goal, police said, is to “establish a white ethno-state.”The men — Michael John Helterbrand, 25, of Dalton; Jacob Kaderli, 19, of Dacula; and Luke Austin Lane, 21, of Silver Creek — plotted in North Georgia last year with a fourth member of the same group, a Canadian national named Patrick Jordan Mathews, according to Floyd police.

Blaming other races because they can't get their lives together. I hope they get locked up for awhile.

from the beginning.

I hope they get locked up for a while too, but they'll probably get released with a "don't do it again, boys!".

Luckily we have the day off. 50,000 people in Capital Square? Yikes.

That's a lot of people in the streets. Wisely the main anti-gun group is calling off their rally.

This really is a pain in ass for people who usually use this day to actually lobby at the GA.

downtown feels 10 degrees colder especially when the wind is whipping through the buildings. Like a wind tunnel. The Square is maybe 1/2 mile north the James River. It's going to be really cold.

Thanks I've been meaning to look up the forecast.

Even if the weather reduces the size of the crowd, there will be police officers having to stand in that wind the whole time.

Maybe the most vile extremists will stay home or at least get their weapons confiscated at the perimeter. (I forget the boundaries of the emergency ban).

They can stay armed on 9th street or Bank St but if they want to go inside they can't be armed.

I'm curious about cars getting broken into. A CDL or NRA sticker is going to be a sign that there might be a gun inside. As far as I know there's not going to be a gun check and I don't know if they are opening up the states 12 story parking garage that's two blocks away. State employees I know weren't told anything about the parking garage not being available.

They called themselves "The Base"

That is a literal translation of "Al Qaeda" from Arabic.
