Can't wait to hear the asshole freepers on that one. But I swear if I hear one criticism of that woman I will go apeshit.

I was writing the pledge words as she was speaking, but not transcribing hers.

I'm from a time before the phrase was added.

If anyone is angry at it seeming to be left out, be angry at me, not her.

Never say it in the Texas pledge. The phrase was added on February 1, 2007 by leaders who couldn't find a way to help education but they could put in the phrase "under God" in the oath. Republicans stink!!

It was somewhere around 1954, and was in a direct response to the RW crazies of the time, namely Joe McCarthy and his sock puppets, the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC), and the John Birchers.

And I could have sworn I heard her say it. Maybe it was the crowd.

I strongly oppose the Constitution be under anything.

Btw I am sort of a Zen Methodist. Not quite sure I believe in a Creator, but otherwise I am faced with the concept that "There was nothing. Then for no reason, it exploded and randomly created time and the Universe."

Here is an interesting take on the religious right and abortion:

In a long time, that muttering the words under my brreath along with someone, made me cry.

She's an inspiration. So is her husband. Their courage inspires me.
