The Memorial to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr in DC

For those who haven't seen it, it stands on a circuit from the Washington Monument to the Jefferson Memorial to the Lincoln Memorial. I took this shot one gorgeous spring day when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom.



The inscription reads

Out of the mountain of despair,

A stone of hope

I love the inscription on it, too. Was that something MLK said? Probably so...

I visited it for the first time this past July and had a tough time getting a clear shot what with SO many people passing through!
