(102,379 posts)the Republicans and Trump's ilk are plotting to derail this whole process-- and the news is full of it today.
I don't know how the hell we are going to get through all this. It is sickening. It is upsetting as hell. And it is frightening to think what comes next if they get their way and Trump is quickly "exonerated."

(25,272 posts)I've always heard that he was 'impeached' and was an 'impeached president'. I heard that he wasn't voted out of office in the Senate trial and he retained his Presidency. I don't think I've ever heard someone say or defend him by saying that he was 'exonerated'. I don't think I've ever heard him say that either.
Am I wrong? In the history books - does it say that Bill Clinton was exonerated?
I'm asking this - because I believe what Nancy Pelosi has been saying. Trump is impeached and his impeachment will be his legacy. He's impeached for life.
We all know what he did with the Mueller Report. He claimed he was 'exonerated'.
We all know that if he makes it through the Senate trial - he will claim he's be 'exonerated'.
We all know better - but it looks like he'll get away with claiming exoneration from impeachment and he will go on to torment us.

(102,379 posts)and accept the outcome. Trump would never do so and he is sufficiently deranged, deluded and narcissistic to convince himself (and his followers) that he was exonerated.
We'll see what the press and ulltimately history does with it. (if we still have anything for which history would be written).

I'll be working as hard as I can. Ultimately, I can't say what will happen.

Then when they vote to remove him from office he won't know what hit him.
Wishful thinking I guess.
