Trump is not going to make the mistake we made in 2016

Specifically, he is not going to concede that the economy is bad, like we stupidly did. It wasn't then; it isn't now.

He's going to have people lined up talking about how they didn't have a job in 2016 and do in 2020. They will be all over his Twitter. (Why we didn't do this in 2016 is beyond me, but that's spilled milk under the bridge.)

Just putting a warning flag out there, that as it stands we lose this election on the economy. People really are doing well, and it's going to be hard to convince them otherwise.

2. Nope, we told the truth and he won't - he just can't help himself, he has to always lie.

He won't stop with jobs now, he will say workers are making more money since tax cuts and people know they aren't and will be pissed at the lie. Also, Dems can then use that in their ads, highlighting all the important lies where he's hurt Americans - on purpose.

I think outside forces beyond mf45’s control will hurt the economy. These China and European tariffs haven’t completely started to affect the economy.

This is a better economy than the late 1990s, which people were ecstatic about at the time.

We ignore this at our peril. We won't win this election on pocketbook issues.

can't live on one; they're up at night worrying about their student loans; they don't have fat Wall Street accounts to tap when they get sick and can't afford decent health care. And on and on. I'm not suggesting that we ignore the economy but let's not sugar coat it.

Seriously. We will not win this election on the economy. Trump will not roll over like we did.

This is a good economy. We have to be clear-eyed about that or we're going to lose very very badly.

It's very very difficult to unseat an incumbent President during a good economy. We will probably not be able to gaslight people into thinking they are miserable. Trump was only able to do it because we played along, and Trump won't play along.

A change in how healthcare is provided. A change in climate laws. This election is not a gimme and I see a lot of people who will expend a lot of energy about what voters "should" think about their interests and will be disappointed in November.

Like it or hate it, the economy is going crazy lately. The stock market seems like it can only go up, and anybody with a stock portfolio is probably doing quite well. I know it's all a big sham based on debt and low rates from the fed, but normal people don't think that critically about it. They see their stocks and job and think the economy is in great shape. If the Dems try to make this election about the economy they'll get smoked. They need other angles.
