General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThis morning I turned on MSNBC and after 3 minutes of Chris Mathews I was SCREAMING at the TV.
He was droning on about "Democrats are already losing the battle talking about procedure while Republicans are winning with wall-to-wall Dershowitz hawking 'No Crime'"
You know the way Tweety just keeps repeating whatever passes for his one thought for the day. It drove me crazy!
I was so mad I switched to CNN and then began to fire off an angry message to MSNBC to get that idiot off the air!
But something happened....while I was typing, Chuck Schumer was giving a news conference and he was going on and on about how everything was so unfair. It was so boring that I started studying his male pattern baldness. Holy crap! Mathews was right. This process argument is good for about 2 minutes and then it's just a broken record.
It occurred to me that if each of our Senators started their news conferences by explaining that, yes, the process IS unfair, so that is why they will now read, out loud, the testimonies from William Taylor, Fiona Hill and Col. Vindman et al, it would then have some meaning to the Americans who are just now starting to pay attention and maybe force the Republicans to admit that evidence if nothing else.

(14,838 posts)he is trying to make the point that people are not smart, they don't have a long attention span, and they aren't focussing on this.
Is he right? For some people maybe. Anyone under a red hat fits that description. But does the general public or even msnbc's audience?
We need both messages. Now the tee-vee surogates need to flood the zone with the simple message; he broke the law and he should be removed from office. Yes, laws were broken. But that doesn't need to be proved.

(6,539 posts)We already know the facts and the outcome:
Fact: Trump tried to extort Ukraine into helping his reelection. He sent his waltzing Matilda's Ghoulianni, Pence, and Oily Idiot Rick Perry there to deliver the extortion in person.
Outcome: Moscow Mitch's Kangaroo Kourt will not remove the most corrupt president in American History. The world will continue to burn at the hands of big oil which owns the GOP. The kangaroos are jumping!
The subduction of the gOP and Evangelicals has brought them to Trump's Plutonic world. They are in a hell of their own making, waiting for the rest of the world to erupt in volcanic chaos.

(369 posts)to the people who need to know...and we can't get it out there by boring them to death and letting the GOP decide if they should hear the evidence from the Congressional hearings NOW while they are finally listening.
I'm not that interested in preaching to the choir and I am definitely not interested in watching it burn.

1. No talking heads telling me what was just said and how to feel about it.
2. No irritating Live Chat scrolling by too fast to read. I don't want to read it anyway and the motion is distracting and irritating as hell.
