As someone who has sustained TBI, and all of the accompanying baggage that derails my life everyday, I find his comments repulsive, offensive, insensitive and (as usual) paralyzingly ignorant. He doesn't think that headaches caused by TBI are a "any big deal," or whatever the fuck he said. Apparently an injury or disabling condition MUST be explicitly visible to be recognized and respected as the daily trauma of living with one that it is. According to Dr. trumpie, the never-ending pain that I live with every day and which has dictated my life for 40 years now just doesn't matter because I still have all of the requisite number of arms and legs.
Sorry, that's not very eloquent, but right now, I'm not feeling eloquent. I have a paint-stripping Migraine, which my medication is not addressing. There is a limit of chemical assistance that the body can take on any given day and I have reached mine today. Although I live in a state where marijuana is legal (recreational and medical), I am unable to avail myself to it because I am a VA patient. I'm UA screened all the time, just because. Should I ever fail that, I could have all of my benefits stripped from me. Imagine that for just a minute . . .
I served my nation. Proudly. And would do it all over again. Yet, I am restricted to how much pain management assistance I am permitted because of reefer madness. But none of that matters because trumpie doesn't think the headaches that TBI can cause just aren't any big deal.
