Whenever large amounts military vehicles needs to be transported, they do this. It could be the unit is mobilizing or demobilizing, or the vehicles have been recently repaired, or they’re just transferring them to a new battalion somewhere else. They do this all the time.

Ft. Irwin is in the desert and used for large scale training against US units using Russian vehicles and tactics. Looked like an artillery battalion on the train.
