Ali Velshi's new Sat. a.m. show makes me miss David Gura.

I really like Ali, especially his approach in weekday shows : "let's get smarter."

But on a Saturday morning -- especially after THIS week -- it's rather grating to watch Ali stand up and lecture us like he's an intense college prof before talking to his guests seated in panel formation.

Maybe Ali just needs time to shift gears, but for an early-morning weekend show, it's a better fit to have a witty, low-key David Gura sit down with guests at a round table and a platter of pastries for companionable news chat.

Hopefully, Ali will become a bit less intense in his delivery over time, especially after the impeachment trials is over.

Stephanie Rhule is giving up her shows and becoming a business correspondent who will be on both MSNBC and NBC. I think they are shuffling around the daytime schedule as well.

On daytime? He may have gotten tired of doing his shows then filling in for Tom, Dick and Harry. The poor guy is too good for that. Ali gave up a popular show on CNN to go to Current because he really wanted to do Investigative Journalism.

Is this permanant or just for now?

When they show all Those delicious pastries and you are sitting there with a hot cup of coffee?

Then the staff scarfs them up.
