Health district says the number of people who might have been exposed to the patient is up to 50.

EVERETT, WA — An Illinois woman in her 60s is the second confirmed case of Wuhan coronavirus in the United States.

The first person, a man in his 30s, was hospitalized Monday in Everett, where he’s being treated by a robot with a stethoscope and microphone that allows him to speak remotely with the doctor.

He remained in satisfactory condition Friday.

More possible cases are being investigated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the only lab site in the U.S. where testing for the virus is done.

The deadly new virus has infected hundreds in China, where the death toll climbed to 41 Friday. The mysterious illness has spread to other countries, including three new cases in France. China has locked down 36 million people to try to contain the outbreak and rushed to build a prefabricated, 1,000-bed hospital.

have been infected and are unknowingly walking around infecting others right now. I'm not sure what the incubation period is for this disease, but I know there is currently no cure for it.

Had one possible patient, ruled out on my unit. It’s part of a routine respiratory virus screening we do. We are testing everybody with respiratory symptoms because it’s flu season, (never forgetting all the anti-vaccine idiots running around) we put them in droplet isolation until people are ruled out of infectious disease. If they are ruled in, they go into negative pressure rooms and treated

I'm not saying he is able to transmit it to others, just that he has lived at least 5-7 days with the virus inside him. I don't think we have any idea how long the incubation period is for this virus before it can be transmitted to others.
