Today in history, the 25th of January in 2001, the FOURTH DAY of our "MBA president's" first term, Alan Greenspan said in Senate testimony that Bill Clinton's fiscal surpluses are - an economic danger to the nation's very survival! - that paying down the national debt was a bad thing, and advocated a line of warm, steaming bullshit he made up and called, "preemptive smoothing".

So. It's been 19-years. How'd that "smoothing" work out for ya'...?
