White House is reportedly worried that House Democrats will continue to dig up damaging information on Trump after the impeachment trial

White House officials are concerned that House Democrats will continue investigations into President Donald Trump even after the impeachment trial into Trump concludes, Politico reported on Saturday.

Trump is currently facing trial on two articles of impeachment alleging abuse of office and obstructing Congress over a campaign to pressure the Ukrainian government to investigate his political rivals.

Since Trump was impeached by the House on December 18, a steady stream of new, incriminating information about the Ukraine scandal has continued to come to light.

Even though Trump is likely to be acquitted, Republicans expect House Democrats to continue investigating Trump, and they worry it could jeopardize the president's re-election prospects.

Prosecutor: Giuliani associate's brother may be tied to campaign finance conspiracy case

NEW YORK – The brother of an associate of President Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani is under examination as part of a closely watched campaign finance conspiracy case, a federal prosecutor said Friday.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicolas Roos told a judge that Steven Fruman, the younger sibling of Giuliani business client Igor Fruman, could have been involved in the alleged scheme to buy influence by funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars to U.S. politicians and campaign committees.

Roos said the younger sibling lied about his bank accounts and his businesses when questioned by government paralegals who were examining his suitability to serve as a co-signer on Igor Fruman's $1 million bond package.

Saying that Steven Fruman "could be involved" in some of the actions alleged in the criminal case, Roos said, "it seems he was trying to conceal something." The prosecutor did not elaborate.

and they selected the Ukraine thing to go with using the Intelligence Committee as lead, which would then submit to the Judiciary Committee... But those other 4 Committees are still investigating - including Oversight, Financial Services, Ways & Means, and Foreign Affairs.

Investigating is what Congress is supposed to do Nothing in the Constitution to stop them. Also, in the Trump era, laws and rules and norms don't apply. The House can do what it likes. Anything not in the Constition is permitted by the Constitution, which will be totally defunct in a week anyway.

hearings again, and might not be advisable. The public might brush that off or react against it.

But definitely keep investigating and make the findings public. House investigations.can involve whatever witnesses and documentation that are available, like tapes and videos, without issuing subpoenas. Dig and publicize. That's all that's necessary at this point. Just keep piling it on.

If Barr manages to handcuff all domestic investigators (and he'll certainly try), there will be enough information breaking from allies and even enimes offshore to keep these crooks awake at night.

The man is horrible. I just hope it doesn't take a world war to get rid of him and his successors.

I don’t doubt that there will be barrels of stuff equally as d**ning from elsewhere in the world that will bubble up between now and November.

When the Repuds went after Bill Clinton in the 1990’s, they had the so-called Whitewater scandal, lying about Monica Lewinsky and the dubious say-so of Paula Jones. By comparison, Donnie has a Columbia River’s worth of scandal dating before and during his occupation of the Oval Office.
