The same bunch that claim to value life more than anyone else also are the first in line to choose money over people.

Bomb other people's children and grandmas half a world away.
Let the poor die in squalid slums owned by billionaires
Support genocide if it means you can get the oil.
Refugees in cages with no medical care or clean water.
Blanket neighborhoods with guns and drugs and no opportunities - maybe they'll kill each other.
Throw as many brown people in jail as possible, there's profits to be made.

“I worry that... superstition will seem year by year more tempting, the siren song of unreason more sonorous and attractive. Where have we heard it before? Whenever our ethnic or national prejudices are aroused, in times of scarcity, during challenges to national self-esteem or nerve, when we agonize about our diminished cosmic place and purpose, or when fanaticism is bubbling up around us - then, habits of thought familiar from ages past reach for the controls.

The candle flame gutters. Its little pool of light trembles. Darkness gathers. The demons begin to stir.”
― Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark

Having her as your spiritual advisor is like having the 1000lb sisters as your diet coach.

I know that in the Omen, the decendants of the anti-Christ and the anti-Christ could only be killed with a special, ancient knife with more than one stab of the knife (that came from a set) or another from the set.

Sane, secular America seldom gets to see that Evangelical hokum unvarnished. But every Charismatic Evangelical in this nation has heard that many times before.

When you do that, the ugliness in your soul shines forth.

if you were one of the demonic chosen. You meet one of their first "tests", you are a democrat (so am I, but I am male....., well, maybe that is not safe if Satan doesn't have better demonic choices, just imagine how painful taking a specific dump would be in that case).

reading the bible many times over. I recall that he talks about God giving Moses specifics "tips" to help induce a miscarriage. In another passage, punishment is discussed in the case where a pregnant woman is struck in anger by another person. If the woman dies, the assailant faces the death penalty. If the woman miscarries, the assailant pays a fine.

so reading the bible was not tops on my list. I do remember almost being slapped into next week when I asked my mom what a hot flash was, religious people were really uptight about their bodies.
